My job
So I have an amazing job at times its a job and you just want to stay home on the couch but when I get there I am always happy I made it. There are times when you can be swung at, bitten, kicked, called every dirty name in the book. Sometimes days go by great no problems, well no big ones and then there are days you are trying to catch your breath and someones going back in cuffs and shackles. *deep breath* But I am there for a reason and I was reminded after watching the first segment this year of ONE PRAYER. I am there to let these kids know they matter, God loves them and that there is nothing they could do that would make him love them less. I am there to share my stories and to listen to theirs and to tell them What you have done does not define who you are, its what you have done with everything that has happened when its all said and done. I learn from these kids, they learn from me. I work in a place where its easy for people to forget that although some of these kids have committed horrific crimes they are kids and WHAT THEY HAVE DONE, DOES NOT DEFINE WHO THEY ARE!!!!! You know if I have not learned that and really forgiven myself then I would not be where I am today. If it was true that the things I did was what defined who I was then there might not be any hope for me. But thats not the case and I know that. After watching Rob Bell on the NOOMA video that was about his son stealing the ball, he told his sone "There is nothing you could do that would make me love you less" I hear those words in my ears when I begin to get down on myself and thats my reminder from God that I am forgiven, GOd loves me just as I am. Please pray for the kids at the BCJC pray that they will find Gods love, that they will know they are forgiven and that they too can find it to forgive themselves and see their self worth!
